MissUC Ultimate Options for High School Students

It can be hard for kids in high school to know about sports programs out there that would be of interest to them.  MissUC is proud to have a history of offering programs that appeal to high school students, regardless of their skill level or experience of Ultimate. Check out our leagues for further detail, categorized by season or shoot us a question through our Contact Us page.

Below is a listing of programs that Mississauga Ultimate Club (MissUC) offers year round:

  • ALL LEVELS/PICKUP LEAGUES
  • JUNIOR U18 TOURING TEAMS (TRYOUTS IN APRIL)
  • PICKUP LEAGUES
  • COMPETITIVE LEAGUES

Please note, in order to participate in an event run by MissUC, participants must have a “membership”.  Members under the age of 18 can get a “Youth Membership” which involves parental support. To navigate to the youth membership, navigate to the Register Page.

ALL LEVELS/PICKUP LEAGUES:  This is a great opportunity for members of a high school team to get a weekly opportunity to play ultimate which can be invaluable for improving their skills during the high school ultimate season. Pick-up leagues are more casual and allow members to drop in and play whenever they want.

In a “HAT” league, players will be assigned to teams created by the league.  There is an opportunity to request to play with multiple friends.  This league welcomes all genders and includes players ranging in age. These leagues are a great opportunity for beginners to learn the game of ultimate and to play with and against players who are also learning the game.  The participation of experienced players allows for friendly and valuable instruction from fellow teammates while playing the game.

JUNIOR TOURING TEAMS (UNDER 18): This is a great opportunity to meet and play with boys and girls, aged 14 to 18, from across Mississauga (and beyond) that are interested in developing their ultimate skills in a serious way. MissUC has a womens and a male/open team. These teams play in Ontario Ultimate Provincials, and the Canadian Youth Ultimate Nationals if they qualify. Our Junior Touring Teams have qualified for Nationals in 2024 and 2025, and they get to play outside of Ontario!

There are plans for a boys team and a girls team.  There are intentions for those players that don’t possess the skills to qualify for the “touring teams” to offer positions on “developing teams”.  Anticipate two practices a week and approximately tournaments on 3 summer weekends.

INTERMEDIATE/COMPETITIVE LEAGUES: These leagues are for players who have skills and knowledge of Ultimate and really want to become proficient.

By playing alongside and against highly experienced and skilled ultimate players, one’s game can only improve. Ideally, teams register for this event, but MissUC does offer individual registrations that can be used to assemble a team or assign players to a team.
