4 v 4, mixed, Mondays. All levels. : MissUC is offering a 4 vs 4 league on Mondays. This is a great league for experienced and not-so experienced players. The 4 v 4 concept means players on the field get lots of touches of the disk, so it is a great opportunity to improve on your disk throwing and catching. There is more open space so it is conceivably easier to get open. With enough teams in the league, the ladder system means that more competitive teams will play similarly skilled teams throughout the season and teams with newer players will also get to play similarly skilled teams. This should result in fun, close scoring games for everybody!
EVENT: 6 V 6 PODS
TIMING: Tuesdays, May 23 to July 4, 7 weeks
ANTICIPATED LOCATIONS: John Fraser SS, Gordon Graydon SS, Meadowvale Park SS
PRICING: Individual = $65
GENDER RATIO (OPEN:FEMALE IDENTIFYING): 4:2
REGISTRATION OPENING: April 1
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 15
6 v 6, PODS, mixed, Tuesdays. Some experience required. : We are offering a new concept to MissUC : PODS!
In a POD league, POD A combines with POD B to make a team one week and plays against POD E combined with POD G. The next week, POD A is teamed with POD C and they play against the combination of POD F and POD H. The beauty of this program is that you get to play with your “team” on a regular basis, but you also get to play with new people each week. Scores are recorded and each POD is awarded points. At the end of the season, a POD will be declared the “winner”.
This will be a 6 v 6 league with a gender ratio of 4 open / 2 female identifying players. This is a great league for players with some experience playing ultimate. This league is not an ideal venue to learn the game of ultimate for the first time. (Unlike the Saturday spring league).
Captains putting a POD together should have a POD of 4 open players and 2 female identifying players. If a POD Captain puts together a POD with only 5 players, MissUC will use Individual registrations to “fill the gap”. Captains may want to consider having additional players as part of their roster in order to have subs available, should they be needed. But out of fairness to their fellow POD teammates, they should be prepared to arrive at the field with 6 players.
MissUC will accept team registrations and individual registrations. We will endeavor to create “HAT” teams as we accumulate individual registrations. The gender ratio for this league will be 4 open : 2 female
Registrations for this league opened on April 1st. We anticipate the league will start the Tuesday after Victoria Day, and run for half of the summer.
EVENT: 7 v 7, Intermediate/Experienced
TIMING: Thursdays, June 1 to August 31, 14 weeks
ANTICIPATED LOCATIONS: John Fraser SS, Gordon Graydon
PRICING: Team = $1,540; Individual = $130
GENDER RATIO (OPEN:FEMALE IDENTIFYING): 3:4 / 4:3
REGISTRATION OPENING: April 1
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 15
7 v 7, mixed, Thursdays. Intermediate/Competitive. : MissUC is offering a 7 vs 7 league again this summer on Thursdays. Players in this league are expected to have experience playing ultimate. With enough teams in the league, the ladder system means that more competitive teams will play similarly skilled teams throughout the season. This should result in fun, close-scoring games for everybody!
MissUC will accept team registrations and individual registrations. We will endeavour to create “HAT” teams as we accumulate individual registrations. The gender ratio for this league is ideally alternating 3:4 / 4:3.
It is essential that Captains putting a team together consider having a team of at least 14 players with a target of 7 open players and 7 female identifying players.
Registrations for this league opened on April 1st. We anticipate the league will start the Thursday after Victoria Day, and run for the summer.
